Volleyball on my mind

When I said I'd coach the high school volley ball team here in Wayne County I didn't realize I'd be ordering new uniforms and learning about new players called Liberos but hey....It's all good.  I'm also learning a bunch of new technological skills like texting and creating facebook groups etc. Unfortunately My blogging time has diminished but it's only for 3 months....Right?

I believe this is the final decision.  It'll have black print and a purple paw print on the bottom right hip (I couldn't leave off the purple)

Chancee's chatterings

Boy have we been busy today.  Among other things...Chance planted his very own garden.  With pineapple in the one =)
He also decided that maybe he'll be a gymnast
But if Chance is going to be a gymnast then so is Oaklee.
 ....and Braden
....And Caib
 After the new....
 ...corrals are built....
...of course!

Raisin' Cowboy's

 Unloading the horses

last minute adjustments

Don't forget the 22's

Ready to climb in to the saddle

Notice the excited dogs

In the saddle

Waiting for Grandpa and Dad

Through the Gate

Movin' out.

There's nothing better then feeling the excitement of my two oldest boys as they climb on to the horses they raised and broke for this very purpose.  herding cattle.  Today they were looking for stragglers that needed to be moved up the country.

Oakee Doakee's Birthday

Happy Birthday Oaklee!!!! Four years old  Two days ago Little Oaklee started fevering.  We all knew what she had, Aubree and Chance had each, in turn, gone through this very thing.  But Oaklee was determined she was going to be better for her birthday.  She mostly is.  This morning I peeked in her room and she was laying in bed with her eyes open.  I walked in and sat on the edge of her bed:
"Good morning, Oakee," I say " It's your Birthday...remember?"
She looks at me for a minute and then says quietly, "Mom, How many am I?"
"You're four years old!!" says I in a very important and grown up way."  Oaklee squirms excitedly into my lap and squeezes me.
We hurry and opened presents so dad could leave for work.  This one was the biggest hit!! She's already ridden it around the kitchen.....a LOT, been up and down the street a dozen times to the park on a picnic and begged me to let her ride it to the store and Grandma's house.  I then spent a portion of the day whipping up a castle cake that she wanted
It'll have to do.....She's perfectly happy with it.

It seems like Oaklee has grown up a lot in this last year.  She's turned into a little girl instead of a toddler..I love this age, this imagination this sweet little girl who is so determined and happy and who loves her family so much.  I love to see her with her older brothers They take such good care of her.  Aubree and her are best friends and she and Chance live in a world of their own creation most of the time and I'm not sure any of the rest of us will ever get to visit it.  We sure love Oaklee and we're glad she's feeling better for her birthday.

And this is 2012 (I'm positive=)

I love these pictures  I just had to blog them so I'd always have them......all together.  I love my boys!!

Rebellious Children..".Never say Never"

My sister in law and I get up and go walking in the mornings.  In doing so I usually have to leave my two youngest home by themselves because my oldest daughter loves to go with us.  I don't have to much of a problem with that because we usually only walk for half an hour or so...never more then an hour.  I'll usually turn on PBS and let them sit in a stupor watching environmentally friendly shi......stuff or Super Why where they learn that everyone is a wonderful ooey gooey winner and there is no adversary we all just live in love and peace!!!   ah sigh!

AnyWAY one morning I grabbed the two way radios and left one in Chance's possession while I kept the other. We had a wonderful walk with every five minutes broken by the sweet sound of a young boy declaring his love to his mother...who in turn kept telling her son to "PLEASE go in the house and watch T.V."  "But, we don't want to watch T.V.!!"  "Please Chance just take your sister in the house and watch T.V."
"But we just want to play outside"
"I know but if you get hurt I won't be there to kiss it better, please just go watch T.V."
We won't get hurt Mom we're just playing on the rope swing."
"No really Chance I think you'd better go in and watch T.V.  PLEASE"
I guess if I kept him busy talking he was pretty safe.  My sister in law finally pointed out that I really should be quite proud of myself for having kids that refused to watch TV.

This week we have been torn between a few options for celebrating the fourth of July We could go up North to a pool party we could go camping with just our family, we could have a big barbecue here at home or we could jut ignore the holiday altogether.  We finally had the decision made for us when Chance began fevering last night and is still running a fairly high temperature tonight.  We are just going to have a barbecue here and try to get him better.  This has me a bit concerned because there's quite a bit of farming still going on and I worry that Roger will get busy and try to get so much done that he won't come home until 9:30 or 10:00 Pm and then try to celebrate with tired onery children  It never really does work to well with us staying here soooo I proceeded to give Braden a run down of my concerns about his Dad, him and Caib not quitting long enough to come home and spend an hour or two with the family. His response;
"But Mom, I really kind a like to work."

The funny thing is he's been hauling rock all day long....I thought that maybe he'd be excited about the thought of getting a little break Cause there are a WHOLE BUNCH of rocks that have to be hauled off this new chunk of ground.

I guess I should have never told myself that I wouldn't have rebellious children ;)
